Nihon Kohden America’s monitoring division develops solutions to improve patient safety and better control costs. The Data Scientist Intern will curate, process, and model clinical data to support the development of algorithms that enhance operational efficiency and predict adverse events in hospital settings.

- Understand clinical workflows and identify opportunities for data-driven improvements
- Clean, process, and transform complex clinical datasets from various sources including bedside monitors
- Develop predictive models to support clinical objectives
- Create visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to clinical stakeholders
- Document methodologies, findings, and technical specifications
- Participate in regular team meetings to present progress and receive feedback
- Support the evaluation and validation of model performance in real-world settings
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams
- Participate in Intern program work events and presentations
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.
Qualification
Required
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program in science / engineering / business or related discipline.
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions
- Resourcefulness and ability to devise creative solutions to problems
- Experience testing and mapping various business processes and protocols
- Familiarity with industry technology systems to gather data and problem solve
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment
