Stella-Jones is North America's leading producer of industrial pressure-treated wood products, and they are seeking an Accounting Intern for the summer of 2025. The intern will rotate through various groups within the accounting department, gaining hands-on experience in the manufacturing and railway tie industry while supporting key accounting functions.
Responsibilities
Executes tasks and completes projects given by Director and/or accounting managers.
Support and assist with reporting packages sent to manufacturing facilities.
Support the month-end and year-end closing process.
Work with accounting software to process business transactions.
Ensure proper coding of expenses to correct accounts and departments.
Prepares and performs other Ad Hoc analysis and reporting as required.
Analysis of different inventory movements across operation facilities with the intention of standardizing movements.
Data Migration to Blackline, our new account reconciliation software.
Preparation of production order cost vs plan cost for facility review.
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Accounting degree program at an accredited university
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage various tasks simultaneously
Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office required
Preferred
Students with graduation dates in the Fall/Winter of 2025 or Spring/Summer of 2026 highly preferred
Prior accounting internship experience preferred
Completion of a Cost Accounting class by start of internship preferred
Pittsburgh area intern candidates are highly preferred
