Chipotle Mexican Grill is a chain of restaurants that specializes in burritos and tacos, and they are seeking an Accounting Intern. The intern will be responsible for daily cash reconciliation, review of sales data for accuracy, and preparation of month-end financial close balances.
Responsibilities
Support the restaurants in all needs surrounding sales, payments, and related issues.
Analyze bank reports and POS deposits to generate cash discrepancy reports, following up on material adjustments as needed.
Leverage sales tool data to research sales sub-ledger entries between the POS system and ARCs system as necessary.
Leverage Delivery Partner data compared to internal sales data and bank activity for accuracy.
Validate accuracy of sales data, preparing manual sales adjustments as needed.
Retrieve, modify, and analyze data to review trends and identify improvements.
Prepare and review the financial statements of assigned accounts which include the monthly preparation of month-end accruals, responding to exceptions based on pre-determined criteria, and preparing any adjusting entries as needed.
Qualification
Required
Obtaining B.A./B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
Analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of and the ability to proficiently use a PC along with MS Office Suite software
