AvalonBay Communities is a real estate investment company focused on developing and managing distinctive apartment homes. They are seeking a Financial Planning Analyst Intern to gain broad real estate experience while collaborating with senior leadership and providing recommendations through the analysis of financial data.
Responsibilities
Conduct detailed analyses of historical financial data
Build models to project future performance
Provide critical support to development/redevelopment teams
Support budgeting and capital planning team
Assist property management team
Qualification
Required
Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, or in another quantitative or business-related field.
Strong problems solving skills and a desire to put them to use in a meaningful way.
The intellectual curiosity to truly learn about all aspects of our business and new tools/skills.
Excellent time management and organizational ability.
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills using MS Excel and PowerPoint.
A diligent work ethic, desiring to work in a fast-paced environment that supports a balance of independent work and team collaboration.
Preferred
Experience working with SQL, R, Power BI/Tableau, and VBA is a plus.
