Cone Health is a not-for-profit network of health care providers serving people in Guilford, Forsyth, Rockingham, and surrounding counties. They are seeking an Intern for Financial Analytics to join their Managed Care Contracting team, responsible for over $1B in annual revenue. The intern will support the finance team with financial reporting, modeling, and analysis, conduct market research, create data visualizations, and provide recommendations for financial decisions.
Responsibilities
- Supports finance team with financial reporting, modeling, and analysis
- Conducts market research and analyses; Researches medical economic trends
- Creates dashboards and other data visualizations for key performance indicators
- Provides information and recommendations to help drive financial decisions
- Organizes findings in a clear and structured manner and internally present those findings
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
- Incoming undergraduate seniors or first-year MBA students
- Preferred Majors: Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Health Care Administration
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel Pivots, VLOOKUPs and Advanced Formulas)
- Demonstrated problem solving, analytic, financial, and evaluative skills
- Attention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities often within a required timeframe
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Work well with limited oversight and under ambiguity
- Action-oriented, self-starter with a strong learning focus
Preferred
- Knowledge of SQL Server (desired, not required)
- Proficiency in Tableau or Power BI (desired, not required)
- Experience with healthcare finance or healthcare economics (desired, not required)
