Stepan Company is an international manufacturer of specialty and intermediate chemical products, and they are seeking a motivated individual to join their Internal Audit team as a summer intern. The intern will assist with day-to-day operations, including drafting templates, conducting SOX testing of financial controls, and supporting various operational audit procedures.
Responsibilities
Develop and prepare internal audit templates and work papers
Assemble relevant information for use in planning and execution of internal audit projects
Provide administrative support to the Internal Audit team
Perform audit procedures and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness internal controls
Effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization to support Internal Audit team
Qualification
Required
Excellent oral and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Ability to be proactive and meet project deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid team environment
Self-starter with good problem-solving skills
Detailed oriented and strong analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Current student pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Accounting with an interest in auditing and/or internal controls
Strong academic track record (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3)
Preferred
Prior professional experience preferred
Foreign language proficiency (Spanish, German, French, Mandarin) is a plus
Sophomores, juniors and seniors are preferred
