WM is North America's leading provider of integrated environmental solutions, and they are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic data intern to contribute to their data-driven initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in SQL and BI tools, allowing the intern to work alongside experienced data professionals on real-world projects.
Responsibilities
Document logic in dashboards and metric definitions
Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preparation of data from various sources.
Support data analysis projects by performing exploratory data analysis, generating reports, and creating visualizations.
Assist in the creation of dashboards and reports to communicate data insights to stakeholders.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the brainstorming and problem-solving process.
Conduct research on new data sources and technologies.
Document processes and findings clearly and concisely.
Collaborate with other members of the data team and cross-functional teams.
Other data-related tasks as assigned.
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
Strong interest in data and its application to business problems.
Basic understanding of data concepts and principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Can gather and analyze information skillfully.
Candidates must be able to develop alternative solutions to problems, work well in group problem solving situations, and use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
Able to adapt to changes in the work environment, can change approach or method to best fit the situation. Must be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Must understand Microsoft Excel environment.
