Johnson & Johnson develops medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and consumer packaged goods. They are seeking a Clinical Data Scientist Intern to work with statisticians and data engineers, supporting projects in clinical studies and participating in various working groups.
Responsibilities
Work with practicing statisticians and data engineers to learn about statistical and data science applications specific to clinical or nonclinical settings in medical devices.
Support projects in areas that range from clinical studies, post marketing studies, Real World Evidence registry studies.
Participate in working groups such as the Statistical Methodology/Consulting Working Group, Machine Learning Working Group, RWE/Publication Support Team, and R, Python, SAS User Groups.
Involved in various activities, including data preparation, graphical exploration of data, statistical model building and analysis, report writing, and writing of computer programs or software applications associated with the participated projects.
Other activities may include designing experiments, conducting simulations to evaluate optimal designs, and participation in methodological development.
Qualification
Required
Candidates are currently pursuing a Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree in Biostatistics or Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
Candidates must be available to work 10-12 weeks from May 2025 – September 2025 and are required to work full-time or 20 hours per week during that time.
Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Candidates must be a self-motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and programming skills is required.
Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
Preferred
Proficiency in at least one of the following languages SAS, R, or Python is preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred.
