Johnson & Johnson develops medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and consumer packaged goods. They are seeking a Data Science CoOp to support their Global Regulatory Affairs organization in driving a data-centric culture and improving data governance and analytics processes.
Responsibilities
Within GRA’s Regulatory Operations & Digital Innovation (RODI) organization, the Data Science team plays a critical role in helping drive a data-centric culture across GRA. This role will support Data Science by understanding how business teams benefit from data to achieve business strategies and to understand and improve performance. This role will be involved in working directly on or influencing GRA’s data governance, data standards, data quality, and data analytics processes and technologies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, documenting business use cases that show how data can support business strategies, identifying data sources, delivering continuous improvement of metrics reporting processes, provisioning reports and metrics to key cross-functional team members, developing project management documents, developing learning materials, and contributing to key discussions with cross-functional data and business teams. Learn business aspects of data standards, AI, and related data governance by working with data subject matter experts.
Support in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a program to increase and sustain data literacy across GRA. Drive a data-driven culture by enabling business utilization and self-service of their data transformation and visualization needs.
Obtain, gather, and analyze data used to provide insight to key indicators, trends, risks, and opportunities.
Prepare and deliver functional presentations for senior leaders.
Build digital competence on how to use data as an enabler, actively seek data-driven insights and confidently use data tools to make valuable decisions that deliver value.
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing Bachelors or Master’s degrees in Data Sciences, Public Health, Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Sciences, Engineering or Life Sciences and any relevant degrees in an accredited university is required.
Applicant must be enrolled in a university program through June 2025 or later.
Have permanent work authorization in the US. We cannot consider students requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Be currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s/Masters (must be enrolled throughout co-op).
Knowledge of basic statistics and data analytics tech/tools (e.g., excel or any other), with ability to communicate technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
