Intuitive is a pioneer and market leader in robotic-assisted surgery, focused on minimally invasive care. The Data Science Intern will work with a talented team to develop and integrate fiber optic shape sensing in medical robotics, performing testing and creating data pathways to enhance manufacturing processes and robotic surgery platforms.
Responsibilities
Proactively mine data to identify trends and patterns and generate insights for engineering
Create and automate powerful yet digestible visualizations to enable unaided consumption by technical staff.
Create and maintain data pipelines from data source through testing engines.
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June.
Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or related degree-seeking program at the Master’s level.
Minimum 2 years of experience with Python programming language
Working knowledge of database technologies (e.g. ODBC, Access, SQL)
Excellent communication (written, verbal), presentation and documentation skills
Bachelor’s level students would also be considered based on specific relevant experience.

Familiarity with machine learning techniques
