The Intern will support the Early Clinical Development organization by conducting imaging data analyses on clinical trial data and working with the Clinical Science team to generate scientific insights.
Responsibilities
Support a project focused on conducting imaging data analyses on clinical trial data in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) to investigate the relationship of images from multiple modalities.
Establish a reliable workflow for cross-modality image registration.
Further evaluate the correlation between structural appearance and functional changes.
Gather and analyze relevant data from existing database architectures.
Identify and integrate imaging tools to generate scientific insights for clinical trial needs.
Present results at team meetings and at departmental meetings to the Genentech scientific community.
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
Must have attained a PhD
Biomedical engineer, Computer Science, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Preferably with a thesis on a medical imaging related topic
Strong programming skills in Python, or R.
Background in medical imaging and/or clinical science and with relevant publication record.
Experience working with the principles and techniques of data analysis, visualization, interpretation, and assessment of clinical relevance.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with an interdisciplinary team.
