Parkview Health is northeast Indiana’s largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, and they are seeking a Nursing Informatics Summer Non-Clinical Intern. The intern will assist the Nursing Informatics team with technology support in hospitals and engage in data gathering and analysis for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist the team with helping caregivers with the use of technology on site in the hospital departments.
- Complete chart audits, gather data, create reports, and assist the teams with other similar tasks.
- Support the use of devices or other technologies in the hospital units after receiving training.
- Observe and assist with the implementation of new processes.
Qualification
Required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel
- Willingness and ability to assist the Nursing Informatics team in providing technical and workflow support in the hospital setting following training
- Good communication skills, as they may be interacting with Nurses and Patient Care Techs in the hospitals
- Must be a current undergraduate college student or graduate college student
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Submission of Cover Letter, Resume and Letter of Recommendation
- Applicants should have their own transportation for local travel
Preferred
- Background in data analysis and data visualization
- Areas of study that would be great fit for this position include Nursing Majors, Health Informatics, or similar studies w/ an interest in technology
- Specific educational focus or degree may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship
