Research Associate-Fixed Term

Michigan State University has been working to advance the common good in uncommon ways for more than 150 years. They are seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Research Associate to join their research team focusing on understanding inequities in women’s health and identifying policy changes to promote justice.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and conducting research studies
  • Conducting literature reviews and data analyses
  • Presenting results at conferences
  • Publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • Assisting with grant proposals
  • Take a leadership role on at least one project
  • Develop an NIH proposal

Qualification

Required

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent in epidemiology, health services research, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated scientific writing ability
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis data of large administrative data and survey data using either SAS, R, or Stata.
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

  • Subject-matter knowledge in one or more of the following: perinatal epidemiology, social epidemiology, health services research, health economics, health policy
  • Experience with quasi-experimental analysis, such as difference-in-difference models
