Brigham and Women's Hospital is an academic medical center based in Boston, Massachusetts, and they are seeking a Research Coop in the Division of Aging. This role involves working with large scale human genetics data, enhancing analytical pipelines, and collaborating on data analysis and documentation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Get acquainted with the current bioinformatic pipeline used by the group.
- Once comfortable, help with testing the pipeline and write code for system updates.
- Data wrangling preparation for new datasets to be used in future iterations of the pipeline.
- Build comprehensive documentation for the pipeline upgrade and functionality.
- Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, researches, develops, and applies statistical models for analysis, inference, and prediction from multiple large datasets.
- Collaborates with the bioinformatics staff for data cleaning and quality control of genomic datasets.
- Provides regular reports of data curation and analysis to investigator and collaborators.
- Adheres to rigorous principles of reproducible research and data documentation.
- In collaboration with investigators and trainees, contributes to scientific literature, reports, journal publications and presentations.
Qualification
Required
- Applicants must be a current student in one of the master programs of Northeastern University with a co-op program
