They are seeking a motivated Research Intern to contribute to a project focused on the long-term effects of breast cancer treatment, gaining hands-on experience in epidemiologic research and developing skills in statistical programming and scientific writing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct targeted literature reviews to synthesize results from existing studies on the long-term effects of breast cancer treatment, identifying important research gaps.
- Develop skills in statistical programming and perform simple epidemiological analyses.
- Communicate research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions effectively through scientific writing and presentations.
- Participate in weekly meetings with Dr. Ramin to discuss research progress and goals.
- Engage in a culminating project that involves drafting a scientific manuscript and/or poster based on internship findings.
Qualification
Required
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
- Must reside in the greater Los Angeles area or surrounding cities during the internship.
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 16 hours per week on-site (remote work can be considered for specific tasks).
- Interns: Must be eligible to receive academic credit for the duration of the internship.
- Visitors: Must be funded by an eligible sponsoring institution (e.g., employer, educator, funder).
Preferred
- Preferred: 12 months
- Minimum: 6 months
