Auburn University is seeking an Undergraduate Research Assistant to work in the Complex Human-Environment Systems (CHES) Lab under the supervision of Dr. Li An. The role involves training deep learning models to detect and identify animal species in Chitwan National Park, Nepal.
Responsibilities
- Manually select and label images containing animals.
- Accurately identify and classify the species of animals in the images.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality data processing.
Qualification
Required
- Majoring in Geospatial & Environmental Informatics, Wildlife Ecology & Management, or a related field.
- Highly meticulous and patient, with strong attention to detail.
- Skilled in distinguishing objects within camera and drone imagery.
- Able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Demonstrates excellent teamwork and a positive work ethic.
