Communications Internship/CAER

The University of Kentucky is a public, research-extensive institution dedicated to improving lives through various means. They are seeking a Communications and Project Assistant Intern to promote and enhance messaging about the CLIMBS project, which focuses on building climate resilience in Eastern Kentucky and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Help with event planning and hands-on assistance of events alongside the EOC team and new Project Coordinator
  • Onsite Photography and journalism (potentially traveling to a research sites in Kentucky)
  • Organizing the KY NSF EPSCoR E-Newsletter
  • Help organize and create Canvas Virtual Learning modules for CLIMBS students
  • Conduct virtual or in-person interviews and write articles with student researchers
  • Updating the CLIMBS participant list
  • Other organizational tasks as assigned in reference to reporting or awards

Qualification

Required

  • Organizational skills
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Writing
  • Photography

Preferred

  • Basic understanding of earth and atmospheric sciences
