AutoNation is an automotive retailer that buys and sells a selection of cars for the automotive industry. They are seeking a Communications Intern to assist in crafting and distributing company messaging, supporting public relations initiatives, and gaining exposure to various communication strategies during a 10-week internship program.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development of content for internal communications, including newsletters, emails, and intranet posts
Support the creation of external communications such as press releases, media pitches, and social media content
Participate in public relations initiatives and help manage media relations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across various communication platforms
Gain exposure to crisis communications, reputation management, and branding strategies
Work on communication analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program (Master’s students also accepted)
Majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
Minimum GPA of 2.5; a GPA above 3.0 is preferred (Transcript will be requested)
Ability to commute and work on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale for the duration of the internship
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
A creative mindset with an eagerness to learn and grow in the field of communications
