Neurocrine Biosciences engages in the discovery and development of drugs for the treatment of neurological and endocrine-related diseases. The New Product Commercialization Intern will support commercial input into early development and participate in market research for therapeutic candidates, contributing to planning and execution of market assessments and lifecycle prioritization.
Responsibilities
Will be involved in planning and execution of market research and analyses to maximize the value of product candidates and research programs in existing and new therapeutic areas
Helps to define Target Product Profiles (TPPs) for cross-functional R&D teams developing novel therapeutic candidates to help inform asset opportunity
Works in conjunction with Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, identify and gain insights from scientific thought leaders as needed to inform clinical and commercial development plans
Participates in the development of revenue forecasts and risk-adjusted net present value (NPV) models for all portfolio compounds in collaboration with key business partners (Finance, Clinical Development, etc.)
Partner with cross-functional colleagues to help support lifecycle management (LCM) activities and decision-making
Provide customer insights and recommendations to help inform clinical development including formulations, dosing, desired endpoints, evidence generation plans and other elements impacting product value proposition and overall commercial viability
Monitors competitive therapies of relevance to Neurocrine to allow development teams to react to new information by strengthening underlying product candidate profiles
Completing a special project and presenting the recommendations to senior management upon completion of the internship
Qualification
Required
Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an interest in biotechnology
Good verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge and experience with Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to think creatively and be a team player
Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more
Ability to commit to a 10-12 week full-time summer program
Preferred
Familiarity with biopharmaceutical technologies, physical and life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes is desirable
