They are seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2025 to join a team of engineers working on Maritime Systems. The intern will gain real-world experience and mentorship while contributing to various software engineering tasks.
Responsibilities
Be part of a team of engineers addressing emerging challenges in Maritime Systems.
Be assigned tasks that are relevant and necessary to the successful execution of Leidos contracts.
Support real testing as part of an integrated test team.
Write user interface and simulation software that is in use today.
Support the cybersecurity strategy.
Develop algorithms and computer models.
Support the software design of autonomous vehicles.
Perform model runs.
Benchmark hardware performance.
Build user interfaces.
Tune radar/optical systems.
Perform sea test data analysis.
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Must be junior or senior class level, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Must be experienced with C++.
Must have experience working within a Linux environment.
US citizenship is required, as well as eligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Must be available to support full-time internship this summer onsite at our Arlington, VA location.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership ability through community or campus involvement.
An entrepreneurial, motivated, self-starter attitude is required.
Preferred
Experience in one of the following is helpful, but not required: surface or underwater vehicles, game theory, cybersecurity, autonomy, simulations or communication protocols.
