Viasat is a global communications company that offers satellite services, and they are seeking a Software Engineer Intern for their Enterprise Architecture team. The role involves providing solutions to enhance the software engineering workforce, developing automated governance solutions, and working closely with stakeholders to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
Learning and grappling with APIs (REST, GraphQL) and database tables
Building and deploying microservices in a cloud native, Kubernetes environment
Writing solid, clear, unit-tested code
Creating GitHub actions
Automating jobs to integrate and analyze data across many systems
Working within Scrum to complete stories and sprints
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science & Applications, Computer Science and Computer & Systems Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Mathematics, Computer Science & Network Security and Math & Computer Science, and/or a related field
To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2025 and June 2026
Experience in Object Oriented Programming
Experience in one or more languages: Java, Python, C/C++, JavaScript, TypeScript
Experience with Linux and networking
You must be available for the full duration of the 12-13 week internship program
Preferred
Experience with Automation Technologies and CI/CD: Jenkins, Travis, Puppet, CHEF, Ansible, etc.
Experience with Cloud Technologies: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
Experience with Container Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with Database technologies: RDS, NoSQL
Experience with APIs, web hooks, and message queues
Previous internship experience is a plus
