Summer Intern - Software Engineer

HARMAN is a global company that designs and engineers connected products and solutions. They are seeking a Summer Intern - Software Engineer to assist with hardware and software bring-up and feature enablement for Intelligent cockpit systems.

Responsibilities

  • Digital cockpit software bring-up and feature enablement.
  • Board bring-up(QC6/QC8, EA9/EA7.etc) and peripheral validation.
  • Device driver development and device tree adaptation.
  • Android framework extensions to support automotive feature development.
  • System boot and runtime performance optimization.

Qualification

Required

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Must have taken courses in, or closely related to Computer Science and Electronics
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders and executives
  • Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Be willing to work in an office/hybrid schedule in Novi, Michigan.
  • Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
  • Must provide full work availability from May 19, 2025 through August 8, 2025 and be able to work 40 hours per week

Preferred

  • Strong Operating Systems Knowledge(Linux/Android)
  • Strong C, C++ programming skills
  • Prior experience in device driver and device tree development
  • Knowledge of system-level debugging.
  • Interest in the automotive industry
