WindBorne is a company focused on enhancing weather forecasting through innovative data collection using smart weather balloons. They are seeking Web Dev Interns to work on impactful projects that contribute to their mission of building a planetary nervous system and improving human interaction with weather data.
Responsibilities
There's no such thing as an intern project at WindBorne: you'll be working on real tasks that meaningfully impact our ability to build a planetary nervous system and change the way humans interact with the weather.
Depending on when you join, this may mean working on our mission control suite, the system that lets us control thousands of balloons as they circle around the globe.
Or, it may mean working on our customer-facing products, building tools for businesses to make sense of the weather as it impacts everything from solar production to shipping logistics.
You'll start off with small tweaks to get familiar with the code base then graduate to bigger and bigger features.
Qualification
Required
Great fluency with React
Great fluency with Ruby on Rails
Experience working on personal projects outside of class assignments
Fast learner
Ability to quickly digest a torrent of information
Cares deeply about the fundamentals of web development
Reasoning from first principles about what makes a solution 'good'
Preferred
Experience or love for design, including Figma
Obsession with CSS
